State recreation officials today announced Tahquamenon Falls State Park will host its annual winter festival Feb. 3 from 12 to 8 p.m. at the Upper Falls parking area.

Events include an antique snowmobile display, free snowshoe rental, an up-close visit with an Iditarod dog sled team, ice fishing pole making, hot chocolate by the campfire, evening lantern lit cross-country skiing and guided snowshoe hikes.

The semi-modern campsites available this winter at Tahquamenon Falls State Park include electrical outlets, but no flush toilets or running water. To make a camping reservation, call (800) 44-PARKS or go online at www.midnrreservations.com.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.

For more information, contact Tahquamenon Falls State Park, 41382 West M-123, Paradise; or phone (906) 492-3415.
