A recent hoedown at Brighton Recreation Area was a success, so state park and recreation officials have decided to host a second one at Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable on Saturday, March 10, as an early St. Patrick's Day celebration. The event will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
"There was so much fun and laughter at the last hoedown that we decided to schedule a few more," said Joseph Hall, Brighton Recreation Area supervisor. "We only have room for 50 participants, so if folks want to join us they should call now for a reservation."
No experience is necessary for the line dancing or the square dancing. There will be live music, food and drink. Couples ($30) and singles ($17) are welcome. Reservations can be made by calling (810) 534-5063.
All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
