Department of Natural Resources officials today announced that work to upgrade the Pere Marquette State Trail will begin in Farwell this week. The trail, which runs from west of Clare to the Village of Baldwin, is a multi-use, state rail-trail open to all uses except wheeled motor vehicles.
Improvements will include parking area development in the villages of Farwell and Baldwin, and trail drainage and trail tread work in various locations along the trail. Work on the trail will continue through the summer and is scheduled to be completed by early September.
