Michigan Department of Natural Resources state park and recreation officials today announced Baraga State Park is offering an innovative, cost-saving solution to visitors needing to empty the holding tanks of their recreational vehicle during their stay at the campground.
For a nominal fee, park visitors can have their holding tanks pumped at their campsite by A-1 Toy-Lets, a local business in Calumet, who will be at the park on Mondays and Fridays. The service is a great solution for campers who are staying for an extended period.
The cost is $10 for one tank and $15 for both tanks. Visitors can sign up for the service at the campground office.
According to Park Supervisor Dan Dowdy, many campers who have used the service this spring have been pleased with the convenience.
"We're always looking for new ways to increase the various amenities we can offer to our campers," Dowdy said. "We hope this service makes their camping experience at Baraga State Park more enjoyable."
Baraga State Park is located one half mile south of Baraga on US-41, on the scenic shores of Lake Superior's Keweenaw Bay. For information, visit www.michigan.gov/baraga.
