North Higgins Lake State Park will hold its first "GO-Get Outdoors" Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 29. Campers need to plan for a full day as activities begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m.

Planned activities include hay rides, crafts with the campground hosts, trick or treating, campsite decorating and a costume contest for kids, adults and pets. There also will be pumpkin bowling, tossing ears of corn, decorating pumpkins, a coloring contest, cider and donuts and a scavenger hunt. Prizes have been donated by local vendors and the park will award them to those who participate.

For more information about this event, contact North Higgins Lake State Park at 989-821-6125. Camping reservations may be made by calling 800-44-PARKS, or reserve on-line at www.midnrreservations.com.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
