Waterloo State Recreation Area's Portage Lake Campground is sponsoring a University of Michigan vs. Michigan State University "Big Game" Football Weekend on Nov. 2-4.

All events will take place at the Portage Lake Campground. Family-friendly activities are planned for the weekend.

Activities include a bike parade Saturday morning, punting and passing contests, lawn games such as a bean bag and egg toss and ladder golf. There also will be a U of M vs. MSU tug-of-war. Also, campers are encouraged to decorate their campsites in green and white or maize and blue. The park will present an award for the best decorated sites for each university.

All visitors are welcome to join in on the activities, not just those who are camping. This is a chance to show your true colors, support your team and have some "GO-Get Outdoors" fun at this weekend event.

For more information, contact the Waterloo State Recreation Area at (734) 475-8307. To make camping reservations, call (800) 44-PARKS or go online at www.midnrreservations.com.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
