Brighton Recreation Area is planning its second annual "GO-Get Outdoors" hoedown from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
"The first Valentine's Day hoedown was such a success that we decided to try and make it an even more memorable event for this year," said Joseph Hall, the Brighton Recreation Area supervisor. "Those who joined us last year can testify to the fact that everyone had a great time."
The event will be held at the Brighton Riding Stable and will feature all kinds of dancing, including square dancing and line dancing. No experience, cowboy boots or hats are necessary, Hall said.
Cost for this event is $20 per individual, or $30 per couple. For more information about this event or to reserve a spot, contact the Brighton Riding Stable at 810-534-5063. The Brighton Recreation Area Riding Stable is located at 6660 Chilson Rd. in Howell.
All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
