The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will hold a public input open house to give people an opportunity to discuss and comment on a proposed special fishing regulation for the St. Louis River Estuary.
The open house will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 1 - 4 p.m., in the DNR Office Building at French River, 5351 N. Shore Drive, Duluth, MN).
A 10-day public comment period, in which the public will be able to provide written comments, will follow the open house and will terminate on Oct. 5.
The following regulation change proposal will be open for comment: St. Louis River Estuary - increase muskellunge minimum length limit from 40 inches to 50 inches.
A similar public input open house will be held in the DNR Central Office Building in St. Paul, Minn., on Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for the same regulation proposal. A 10-day public comment period will follow the meeting and end on Oct. 7.
Comments may either be submitted at the open houses or mailed to either:
* Duluth Area Fisheries Headquarters, 5351 North Shore Drive, Duluth MN 55804 by Oct. 5.
* DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife, Box 12, 500 Lafayette Road, St. Paul, MN 55155-4012 by Oct. 7.
