The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will offer 27 parcels of state land for sale to the public. Six of the parcels will be sold at public oral auction at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Lake County Courthouse at 601 Third Ave., in Two Harbors.
The other 21 parcels will be sold by sealed bid auction. Sealed bids are due by 4:30 p.m. central standard time on Thursday, Oct. 25, at the DNR Central Office, 500 Lafayette Rd., Box 45, St. Paul, MN 55155-4045. The opening of these bids is open to the public and will take place in the sixth floor conference room at the DNR Central Office in St. Paul on Friday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m.
Included in the auctions will be lands from Aitkin, Beltrami, Cook, Lake, Marshall, Red Lake and St. Louis counties. Many parcels are 40-acre tracts with recreational or development opportunities. Also included is lakeshore land and smaller tracts with recreational opportunities.
Prospective bidders are urged to obtain full information on properties and sale conditions prior to the auction. No properties offered at oral auction or sealed bid will be sold for less than the minimum bid identified for each property on the property data sheet. The minimum bid consists of the value of the land and any improvements, the timber value and sale costs.
All properties are sold “as is.” Property data sheets and sealed bid forms for all parcels are available from the DNR, and contain locations, minimum bids, date and location of auction for that property, site description and property condition.
