Inland walleye fishing is closed. The inland season for walleye, pike, and musky will re-open on April 26th. Walleye fishing is open year-round in the Lower Peninsula Great Lakes, Lake St. Clair, St. Clair River, and the Detroit River. Ice conditions around the southern sections of the Lower Peninsula are starting to deteriorate and may no longer be safe. Bovine Tuberculosis Prevalence Rate Drops in 2007

Disease surveillance and monitoring efforts by the Department of Natural Resources during the 2007 white-tailed deer hunting season showed that the prevalence rate for bovine tuberculosis (TB) dropped to 1.4 percent in Deer Management Unit 452.
