How to Make Mulch and Compost with Vegetable Peelings
Here is a great tip from my friend Josh, for peeling vegetables onto newspaper and then use as mulch in your vegetable garden. This also makes for easy clean up in the kitchen and the vegetable peelings make great compost.
Do not use the glossy color sections of your newspaper, for this project. When you place the newspaper in your vegetable garden, leave the paper folded the long way and overlap the edges as you place the layers on top of the soil. You can cover the newspaper with additional mulch to keep it in place. Great tip for keeping the weeds away, Recycling and Reusing, all at the same time.
