Look for crappies and sunfish in less than eight feet of water on lakes such as Mary, Reno, and Cowdry. Jigging spoons are the best option for walleyes on Lake Miltona and Lake Ida in 15 to 20 feet of water. Reno has produced a few walleyes during the evening hours as well. Walleyes biting on Reno, Mary, Ida, Darling and Miltona in 18-23 feet of water. Panfish going on all area lakes in 9-13 feet. Try Geneva, Le Homme Dieu, Darling or Ida. Work as deep as 20 feet on Ida. Eurolarvae on a small jig working best. Towards evening, switch to minnows. Pike are very active on area lakes.

There is a “walleye or two” caught from Lake Carlos, Lake Le Homme Dieu, and Lake Ida each evening in 17 to 23 feet of water. Look to Lake Mary for crappies and bluegills between 11 and 18 feet of water. There are some crappies coming off Le Homme Dieu and Lake Geneva in 21 to 38 feet of water, primarily during the evening hours.

Walleye action has slowed down. The crappies and bluegills have been active on Geneva, Le Homme Dieu and Lake Mary. Depths vary but are up to 20’ inside and outside of the weed areas using small jigs and crappie minnows. Any walleye action that is going on is happening the last ½ hour before dark on the bigger lakes, including Ida or Darling. Not a lot of lake travel, make sure to bring your 4-wheeler!

Walleye activity is slow with the exception of a 30- to 40-foot bite on Lake Miltona and Lake Ida. Sunfish and crappies are biting on Lake Mina and Lake Victoria in 12 to 15 feet of water. Look for suspended crappies during the evening hours on Lake Geneva and Lake Le Homme Dieu over 20 to 24 feet of water. Northern pike are active on most lakes along the 12-foot weed edges.
