The warm weather settled the snow pack down and now with the cold weather back accessibility is much better! Bluegills are still in tight to the weeds but the crappies have moved back out into a little deeper water again. Lindy Frostee glow jigs with a waxworm or small minnow working well. Crappie bite is best later afternoon and evening while the bluegills are going good mid to late afternoon. Ida, Crystal, Little Detroit, Lizzie, Prairie, Round, Floyd, Little Cormorant and Cotton are all worth your effort to get out and get some end of the season ice fishing in! Bluegills continue to roam tight to the weed edges, while the best crappie reports are still coming from deep water during the late afternoon hours. Lakes such as Ida, Crystal, Little Detroit, Lizzie, Prairie, Round, Floyd, Little Cormorant, and Cotton have all produced fish again this week. Minnows and glow jigs are turning the crappies, while Eurolarvae is producing the bigger bluegills. Dick Beardsley’s Guide Service www.fishingscene.com Courtesy of Outdoor News |

Not a lot happening in the Detroit Lakes area. There have been a few fishermen out but not many. Seems like everyone has open water fever! It’s going to be awhile, though. Still lots of ice! Bluegills are still being caught on Round, Little Cormorant, Prairie, Little Pelican, Floyd and Cotton. Lindy Pounder jigs tipped with a waxworm working well. Concentrate your efforts along or right in the weed pockets and you should get on some fish. Those same lakes are turning some crappies in the evening hours on Lindy red glow Frostee jigs and small minnows. Although there isn’t many people fishing, those who are continue to find plenty of bluegills. Look to the weed edges and weed pockets on lakes such as Round, Little Cormorant, Prairie, Little Pelican, Floyd, and Cotton for a few bigger fish. The crappie bite is also worth checking out on these lakes during the evening hours. Glow jigs and small minnows are the best option as the sun sets. Look to the shallow weed pockets for sunfish and crappies throughout the day, although the best bite is taking place during low-light periods. Lakes such as Round, Floyd, Cotton, Little Pelican, Prairie, Crystal, Little Detroit, and Big Toad have all produced fish. The area tullibee bite also is worth noting. Look for suspended fish over deep water on Lake Lida, Long Lake, Rose Lake, and Cotton Lake. Dick Beardsley’s Guide Service www.fishingscene.com Courtesy of Outdoor News |

Not a lot of folks out fishing this past week. Bluegills and crappies still going on Round, Floyd, Cotton, Little Pelican, Prairie, Crystal, Little Detroit and Big Toad. Lindy Pounder Jigs or Frostees have been working well tipped with a waxworm. Fishing in the weed pockets have been your best bet. Anglers are getting a few tullibies on Lida, Long, Rose and Cotton. The ice is still in great shape. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come.
