Can it get any busier? I suppose. Trying to get the houses out, stoves working, Christmas shopping done, the SnoBear deal done, kids Christmas programs, you name it I'm working on it. Oh, caramels. Ann, they'll be coming!! The good news with all of the chaos is that the fish are biting and my clients are happy. I only have two houses out at the present time but I will be working on getting more out. I have had the houses busy thus far and my first renters of the season (Tom, J.J. and Kyle) had a very productive couple of days. Most of the fish that we are seeing are between 10 and 17 inches. The biggest to date was caught last night by Aaron Morris and it was 28 inches. I had a guided trip last Saturday a.m. on North Long and we used the SnoBear. What a slick deal that thing is. We (Patrick) caught 6 walleyes. It was pretty neat to see the SnoBear in action. Randy Hruska was the first person to catch a walleye out of it and I didn't even get a picture of it. Duh!! The fish are biting on Gull, North Long, Pelican, Round and about any other lake that has fish in it. Red Gamakatsu hooks with a golden shiner or rainbow has been a good presentation and so have the jigging spoons tipped with a fathead head and yes, a jig and a minnow. 25-30 feet has been the "zone". I really think I will be guiding out of the SnoBear this winter, so you might want to book a trip ASAP.

Tip of the week: The best way to trigger a finicky walleye is to shake the bait slightly as you are raising it.

Merry Christmas to all of you,
Walleyedan
