Lake Independence is kicking out crappies in 45 feet of water. The bigger fish are suspended and hitting a glow jig and minnow combination. On Lake Sarah, you’ll find active crappies suspended in 35 to 40 feet of water, with the prime bite taking place just after sunset. Work the tops of the weeds on Mitchell Lake and Lake Minnetonka in 10 to 12 feet of water for sunfish.

Lake Sarah crappies are suspended in 40 feet of water during the evening hours. Lake Independence is also producing some crappies suspended in 45 feet of water. A glow jig and a minnow working best. Sunfish action is great at the 10- to 12-foot weedline on Minnetonka.

Glow jigs and minnows are turning crappies during the day on Lake Independence. Look for suspended fish over 40 feet of water. On Medicine Lake, waxworms are a safe bet for sunfish in 10 to 12 feet of water. Grays Bay on Lake Minnetonka is worth noting for sunfish and crappies in 15 feet of water.

You’ll find crappies suspended over 35 to 40 feet of water on Lake Independence. These fish have been biting throughout the day on glow jigs and small minnows. The 12- to 15-foot weed edges on Lake Minnetonka are giving up a mixed bag of crappies and sunfish. Eurolavae and wax worms on #12 jigs have worked best. On Medicine Lake, you’ll find numbers of sunfish in 10 to 15 feet of water, but plan on sorting through quite a few small fish.
