The 10-foot weed patches are providing numbers of sunfish and largemouth bass. Jigs and plastics have worked best for bass during the day, while topwater is the way to go early and late. Look for an occasional pod of crappies to show up in these same areas. Walleyes and northern pike have been tough to find.

Sunfish and largemouth bass are providing consistent action on the 10-foot weed patches. The bigger bass seem to be hitting topwater presentations and they're most active during low-light periods of the day. A few more walleyes have been caught this week off the deep weed edges of Wayzata Bay and Brown's Bay. Northern pike and muskies have tucked themselves in the thick weeds and have been reluctant to bite.

An occasional walleye has been caught off the deep weed edges of Brown's Bay just before dark. Look for sunfish on the inside and outside weed edges throughout the day. Bass action remains consistent with topwater baits along the 10-foot weed edges. There have been a few muskies reported this week, but most anglers are stating that they aren't seeing as many fish as last year at this time.

Jigs and plastics have been working best along the deep weedlines. Blue and black have been the hot colors, especially early and late in the day. Sunfish are biting at a good pace along the inside and outside weed edges. Work the mid-depth flats for muskies during the morning hours with black bucktails or stickbaits. If water temperatures continue to drop, look for northern pike and walleye activity to improve on the deep weedlines with minnows.
