Walleyes switched to rigs/leeches in 14-18 feet water on most area lakes. Try a Shad rap after dark. Good walleye lakes are Plantagenet, Bemidji and Cass. Muskie action is slowly heating up. Good reports using topwater or bucktails on Plantagenet, Bemidji and Big lakes. Panfish hitting on Grace, Midge and Grant lakes. Crawlers, small crappie minnows in shallow water working well. Walleye bite has slowed. Fish are coming out of 15-20 on leeches and crawlers. Winnie and Plantagenet best bet. Muskie action heating up with several 50-inchers reported. Panfish action remains steady in the shallows. Perch action good on Bemidji and Winnie. Fish are scattered and caught while fishing walleyes. Bass action steady in the weeds. Walleyes taking #7, #9, #11 Shad Raps after dark on Bemidji and Plantagenet in 6-10 feet of water. More muskies starting to hit on area lakes. A 53-incher was caught on Bemidji. Locals report panfish hitting all over. Bass bite good with the hot weather using topwater early mornings. Red Lake pike bite is phenomenal. Anglers are casting big spoons, daredevils and spinnerbaits along the weedline.
