Walleye fishing spotty, but anglers are catching some in 9-11 feet with a jig and a minnow. Some also pulling leeches in shallow water. Pike bite is great on Red, Big and Bemidji lakes. Suckers or pulling cranks are working well. Muskie action consistent, with a couple 50-inchers C&R. Panfish picking up in shallow water. Good perch reports from Big, Bemidji and Plantagenet using fatheads.

Walleyes biting on Bemidji. Use jig/minnow or a Phelps floater with a crawler or a leech at the 10- to 12-foot weed edge. Some fish moved out to 35-45 feet. On Big Bemidji, try stand-up jigs/fatheads. Panfishermen catching bluegills and sunnies in the cabbage using bobber rigs with snake jigs or a plain hook. Bass moved out to 18-20 feet. Try a worm rig, crawlers, leeches on Movil and Campbell lakes. Muskie bite slowed with the heat, but anglers are seeing fish along weed edges and rock humps on Bemidji and Plantagenet. Use spinnerbaits or jerkbaits. Bigger pike biting on Big Bemidji and Red lakes around the 40-inch mark. Try pulling crankbaits in the weeds.

Walleyes hitting a jig/minnow on Plantagenet in 20 feet. Bigger fish being caught right before dark. Crappies best on Marquette while trolling in 20 feet of water. Pike are biting on North Twin. Try throwing Shad Raps or a Salmo Boxer. Bass taking skitter pops, spinners and jawbreakers.
