Anglers are catching panfish on Gilstad, Rabideau and North/South Twin lakes. Work the shallow water weeds. Walleyes still tough. Red Lake pike are hit and miss. Big northern pike reported when the weather conditions cooperate. Timberline Sport & Tackle, Carl Adams, Junction of Hwy 71 and Blackduck Lake Rd (218-835-4636) Courtesy of Outdoors Weekly |

Panfish bite best on the Twin lakes. Some crappies and bluegills reported caught. A few walleyes hitting on Pimushe. Try leeches or crawlers in 14-18 feet of water. Red Lake spotty, some anglers catching big pike. BLACKDUCK - Timberline Sport & Tackle, Carl Adams, Junction of Hwy 71 and Blackduck Lake Rd (218-835-4636) |

There's some walleyes coming off Pimushe Lake in 12 to 14 feet of water with nightcrawlers. The weed edges of Pimushe, North Twin Lake, South Twin Lake, and Gilstead Lake continue to produce bluegills. Bass and northern pike are hitting spinnerbaits on most lakes, although the bigger fish tend to be more active during lowlight periods of the day. Walleye bite is picking up on Blackduck Lake in 12-14 feet of water. Some using leeches, but most starting to switch back to minnows. Panfish hitting on most area lakes in 12-20 feet from the weedline to deeper water. Waxworms or nightcrawlers both working. Red Lake still spotty, depends on the weather. Bluegills continue to provide the best bite with lakes such as Pimushe, Gilstead, Rabideau, and North Twin providing numbers of fish from 10 to 12 feet of water. A few walleyes have started biting during the evening hours on Blackduck Lake, although Pimushe is still the best bet in 12 to 14 feet of water. Find a weedline on an area lake and you should hit numbers of largemouth bass and northern pike. Crankbaits, minnows, and spinnerbaits all have been productive.
