For sunfish, Leven and Villard lakes are still the best lakes. Small jigs and waxworms best. On Minnewaska, crappies best during the evening hours near the Fish Hatchery. Try 15 feet of water, suspended at 11-12 feet.

The sunfish action has been slow and the fish being caught have been small. Look for a few fish worth keeping on Little Mary Lake, Pocket Lake, and Rachel Lake in 10 to 14 feet of water. On Lake Minnewaska, the sunfish and crappie action remains slow. Lake Charlotte is kicking out some good-sized perch in 16 feet of water with minnows producing bigger fish during the morning hours.

Fishing has been pretty slow. Plenty of ice on most lakes, over 2 feet. Give Larry a call for an updated report.

Panfish action continues to be slow throughout the area. You might find an occasional sunfish on the Glenwood end of Lake Minnewaska in 12 to 14 feet of water, but crappies have been tough to locate. A few sunfish can also be had off Pocket Lake and Rachel Lake in 10 to 14 feet of water early and late in the day.

The panfish bite continues to be slow on Lake Minnewaska. There are a few good-sized perch being caught in the Starbuck Beach area of Minnewaska in 15 feet of water. Devil’s Lake is providing the area’s best sunfish action in less than 10 feet of water.

Over 2 feet of ice in the area. Anglers are catching a few perch at the Starbuck end of Minnewaska. Size is better than the action. Use small jigs and minnows in 15 feet of water. Some sunfish reported caught on smaller area lakes north of Brandon. Try Devils or Whiskey lakes.
