A few sunfish biting in 12-13 feet of water during the day on Minnewaska. Fall walleye bite is excellent on Minnewaska. During the day anglers are using a jig/minnow off the points in 16-18 feet of water. Evenings, work close to shore in the bulrushes, 5-6 feet with floating Rapalas. Lake Emily boat anglers are pulling shallow running shad raps during the day and at night shore fishermen are using live bait. Use frogs (if you can find them) or fathead minnows. Reno walleye bite starting in the evenings with floating Rapalas. Minnewaska Bait, Larry Jensen, Hwy 29 near the Starbuck Marina (320-239-2239) |

The edges of the bulrushes on Lake Minnewaska continue to produce walleyes after dark. Trolling shallow-running Rapalas has worked best. On Lake Reno, crankbaits also are turning walleyes after dark in less than 10 feet of water. Work shallow during midday hours with crankbaits for steady walleye action on Lake Emily. There were some limits of ducks taken over the weekend and there seems to be quite a few geese in the area as well. Mallards, wood ducks, and teal made up the majority of bag limits. Excellent consistent fall walleye pattern on area lakes. Nice fish being caught. Walleyes on Minnewaska biting during the day. A jig/fathead minnow or a spinner/shiner both working. Anglers are working hard bottom areas, around the points. Jig anglers report some perch mixed in. Evenings, floating Rapalas work best. On Emily, shore fishing productive with fathead minnows. Boat anglers using small shallow running shad raps. Reno has been decent, late evening bite best with crankbaits. Long Lake between Morris and Cyrus producing walleyes on live bait. A jig and minnow is producing walleyes on the north and south side points of Lake Minnewaska in 16 to 18 feet of water. The bar in front of the high school has provided steady walleye action. Floating Rapalas are turning walleyes after dark on the north side of Lake Reno. Anglers fishing close to shore on Lake Emily are catching walleyes on Shad Raps. Long Lake also is a safe bet for walleyes with a jig and minnow or Shad Rap. Minnewaska Bait and Tackle (320) 239-2239 |

There's a consistent walleye bite during the day on Lake Minnewaska. Pitch a jig and minnow on the points and you should hook walleyes and plenty of nice perch as well. Walleyes continue to be caught along the shorelines of Reno Lake with Rapalas after dark. On Lake Emily, Rapalas or minnows are producing walleyes in less than six feet of water. Pheasant hunting improves daily as the corn is coming out. Minnewaska Bait and Tackle(320) 239-2239 |
