Walleye fishing is excellent on Minnewaska. Good fall pattern going, days seem best. Try a jig and a minnow, fathead or shiner. Work around the points and hard bottom gravel bars and beaches. Nice eating size perch mixed in. Other lakes producing walleyes are Reno, Emily and Long. Not a lot of ducks around, but numerous geese in the area. Pheasant hunters having fun, the crops are gone now and there a lot of pheasants in the area. Firearms deer opener should be very good.

Deer registration numbers close to last year. Saw a few more nicer bucks this year than last year. Minnewaska hot for walleyes on jig and minnows during the day around the points. Start in 14-16 feet of water. Good perch mixed right in with the walleye. Pheasant hunters had a good weekend, crops are off the fields, the northern ducks are moving and the geese are piling up.

Some anglers are still getting a few late fall walleyes. Rainy weather hampered deer hunting last weekend. Pheasant hunters should be happy with the snow cover. Lot of pheasants around, limits common. A lot of northern ducks down, with bluebills, mallards and ringnecks on the ponds. Should be a good late season.
