Hello. I am searching for summer outdoor activities for my teenager. I want him to learn more about the great outdoors. Is there some sort of camp/s in Michigan that will provide hiking, boating, enviromental issues, etc...? I am looking for something that will keep him occupied for three or more days. Any info will be appreciated. Thank you, |

I will do my best to point you in the right direction - based on the information above.
I hope this will help! Here is a site that is a good read -- www.campexperts.com they will give you some idea's of what to ask and look for when you do find one that interest you. If you are looking for a real wonderful experience for your teen I have heard nothing but positive things about www.deerhillexpeditions.com
That should get you going in the correct direction - as far as camps in Michigan -- I am aware of a program in that fine state - www.projectfish.org - not really a camp but has some very cool programs going!
Starting this spring we here at justnorth are releasing DVD how to's that I am sure will be of interest to you also! We are starting with camping, then fishing and ice fishing DVD's. If you would like we can send you an email when they hit the stores!! Just let me know!

| just a thought...you take that teenager of yours...and send him to fishing lodge off the gunflint trail in northern minnesota for a summer as a guides helper...he we get room and board and a small wage....your son will come home in the fall having traveled the boundary waters canoe area paddling, fishing, hiking, cooking, camping, he will see and learn the flora and fauna first hand..........its a summer he will never forget... tw |
