I just received an email from nationally known outdoor writer, Chester Allen.
Thought is was a great tribute to Trout Whisperer.
"Everyone needs someone to talk to – especially in the outdoors. But, we also need to be alone out there from time to time.
The Trout Whisperer's new CD takes you into his world – The Superior National Forest – and what a world it is. You'll get up a mucky, sweaty creek while taking a "shortcut". You'll hear your new friend talk about the day after deer season ends, when you're too tired and happy to sleep. You'll sniff spent shotgun shells, go into a daze while waiting for a fox to show up in a frozen field, meet the guy who really knows how to set up a boat, and visit a obscure brook trout lake that just might be worth a $1,000.00 each trip.
Most of all, you'll take all these adventures – 14 in all – with the Trout Whisperer. You'll meet his family before a dawn ice fishing trip, you'll meet his grandparents and you'll be along on a fall camping trip in the "Supernatural Forest", where Timberwolves howl, steaks sizzle, and camp fire heat waves shimmer up into a frigid sky.
You'll laugh, smile, and maybe even wipe a tear. But, you won't be alone – as long as the CD player works. And, if you're lucky, the Trout Whisperer will sometimes pop into your ear when you're far, far away from electricity.
We all need someone we can talk to in the outdoors – especially when we want to be alone"
