The following is an excerpt from a forum post by barebackjack from our friends at Catch-n.com:

"thanks to an I.B.O.T. with a watchful eye, and a mindset to give a crap, four guys were busted on red last night with eight walleyes, and 110 crappies for three licenses.

dr.bob and fiskynut were fishing in the same spot we were fishing in yesterday and they noticed one of the neighboring fishermen bury something in the snow. it raised eyebrows of suspicion and a watchful eye realized that it was walleyes they were hiding. Figuring that if they were daring enough to hide walleyes, they were more than likely keeping every crappie that came out of the hole also.

dr.bob called the tip line, which he must have had the wrong number entered into his phone.
he then decided to call 911. this put him through to a guy that put him through to a woman who was ticked that she didn't think it was an emergency, but told him she would have someone call him back. after a half hour with no return call he decided to do what turned out to be the best option anyhow...CALL NINETOE!! after hearing the story, toes was on the scene in what seemed like moments. ninetoe had called officer Tim Grey, who had been out to our ice location checking licenses earlier in the day. he was at home in Bemidji, just about to head to bed when he got the call.
enroute to the lake, Tim called Dr. Bob and got coordinates to the location.

once on the scene, the men of asian decent, were found with eight walleyes, all of which are supposed to be imediately released until the walleye opener in the spring of 2006. 110 crappies, four guys with three licenses. they had fish under the seat, fish packed in their otter sled(which got confiscated with all the other belongings).
this escapade will cost these men around a thousand dollars apiece. not enough if you asked me. they should have been cuffed and stuffed.

good work guys"

I bet that they are fishing again this spring taking over limits of spring crappies. This is just a minor setback for them. There needs to be larger fines.
