Check out this link.

I found the information very interesting. It answered some questions that I have been wondering about for some time. I have heard from many that the State has paid for the majority of the re-stocking efforts. The information provided suggested more of a joint effort, but still lacked the answer that I have been wondering about. It would seem proper to me that if the tribe retains 85% of the quota that they contributed 85% of the stocking efforts monitarily or "in kind". It is good to see that it has been a combination of efforts from various entities! Nice work!

One thing that does confuse me is the University of MN survey; question #13 asked the question,"What do you believe is the major reason for the walleye collapsing?" The three answers listed total 167.7%. I don't know if this is a mistake or not, but all of the other questions' answers equal 100%. Maybe someone else could shed some light on this.

I think that this initiative is headed in the right direction. I hope that monitoring, enforcement and penalties/incentives are a part of what transpires in the near future.

So far the recovery has been successful, I hope it becomes sustainable!
