I need some help. First off, my name is Russ Baker. I live in Vermont, which is just about the worse state for deer hunting.
Last year a bunch of us headed off to Western Ontario in search of some 200lb whitetails. Due to weather conditions, we came back empty handed.
We did see some deer, but nothing that made us pull the trigger.
So here we are in 2009, still searching for a place to hunt.
I liked the allure of wilderness hunting in Ontario, but would rather stay in the USA.
So I have set my focus on NE Minnesota. Specifically Superior National Forest, and the BWCA. Or at least the fringes of that area.
I'm looking for some advice on where to hunt and places to stay. I don't want to cut into anyone's area, just a general place to start looking. I am also looking for a cabin where 4-5 of us can stay. We plan on preparing our own meals, so would prefer a kitchen..
We all are used to hunting very wild and vast areas, so wilderness hunting is what we are looking for.
Id anyone can provide any help, I would greatly appreciate it,
You can PM me at rusbaker_at_gmavt.net Just use the @ instead of _at_
Thanks in advance,
Russ
