Hey ScumFrog,
After Skinny read your post about the new Minnesota State record Lagemouth Bass, he headed down to the dock. After two casts of a surface bait (the brand he won't yet reveal)  , he landed, and released, a dandy 4 lb. plus Largemouth. October bassin' has got to be the best time to have a shot at the big one. 
Thanks ScumFrog. We are celebrating Skinny's 21st birthday on Saturday and that was a great present. You made Skinny's day.

I have a feeling it was a Scum Frog. I'm glad to hear that it was released. I wish more people would practice C.P.R. but they don't. 
I'm off tonight to the cabin to hunt bass and big pike. I'm hoping to have some pictures for you to add to the pic's page in the next few weeks.
Tell Skinny happy b-day and good luck with that top water lure, for me. Just remember, pop-pop pause, count to 10 and repeat. Some where in that retrieve is a slurping sound and a big splash of water, then wait, feel the fish and wham-o it's ours. |
