I am willing to bet that there are many people out there with some great "Do it Yourself" ideas.

I will start off by posting a couple of photos of an idea I had for an easy and cheap, out-of-the-way, ice rod storage system. I bought garage type broom hanger clips (.99 cents for 4) and fastened them to my garage ceiling. I simply snapped the rods into place where they were out of the way. Now when I want to go walleye fishing; I just grab a couple of my walleye rods and throw them into my rod bag.

I am using a space in my garage that normally would have went unused.

Cool post!

I got sick and tired of my vexilar battery and transducer always bouncing around. I actually lost the little foam stabilizer piece that came with the unit the first year I bought it. I solved this problem by buying a can of spray foam. I think that brand I bought is called "Great Stuff". I then wrapped my battery and transducer with plastic and sprayed away. After it dried I used a hacksaw blade to trim it flat.

I never have had a problem with it. I took the photo with the ducer half out of the hole as well to help illustrate the idea. I was actually thinking of getting a short 3 gallon bucket and putting the vex inside and making a foam stabilizer cap out of the same foam stuff for long bumpy rides.

for the long rides, i just have one of the smaller styrofoam minnow buckets that the vex sits right on top off and then put the lid on top also helps keep the lid on the minnow bucket.
