Buck is so busy doing video shoots he doesn't have time to take me fishing.

I want to surprise him with a meal of crappies.

Any suggestions on tackle, bait, and locations for late ice crappie?

Hey Mara
Crappie around here begin to move into the deep part of the lake this time of the year. I start looking for them off the bottom near structure that is close to the deepest water in the lake. Then work my way around the lake looking for structure near the next deepest part of the lake. During low light conditions you will find them back on what is left of weed beds.

I cut lots of holes in all depths and move around alot watching the depth finder for anything. As far as bait - I like ant jigs and small tear drops with SMALL crappie minnows. In low light - anything that glows!

Hope this helps - SOON we will be hunting crappies from a boat!

YUMMY
