you know the old saying.........pulling the trigger harder , does not make the bullet faster.......this is the time of year to sight in your rifles and pattern your shotguns or smoke poles.......especially for any knew young shooters......try to set up a real target with comfortable shooting rest, and measured distances.......then take new shoooters out to the potential stand and show them those same distances.......you can hang ribbon on pre measured shot ranges for rifles and bows.......nobody gets buck fever worst than me........ask my daughter........ taking some practice shots over a couple weeks will simmer some down... may create more relaxed shots.......
ear plugs or shooting muffs for beginners can help with solving flinch problems, so will a smaller caliber to start with.......inflated balloons in the bullseye make great visuals......start with a hittable distance........and young shooters with eye glasses give a extra minute on cheek to stock alignment with scatter guns....
the deal with a real target range........is lost -when in an actual hunting situation.....impress a safe backstop at the range......and then when in the field........flying birds do not get all the bb's........bullets will pass through.....arrows are quiet......but what goes up- must come down......i shot an arrow in the air...........
we have three younger shooters coming to our home this weekend....clay pigeons and some deer rifles to be sighted in...everyone have safe holiday weekend... tw |
