Good job, TW.
It is nice to have the buck relief and then concentrating on helping others with their hunt.
I hunted locally on a friends new parcel near Foley, MN. I couldn't figure out why there was no activity. He had harvested a deer off the land during early bow and there was still plenty of fresh sign.
Instead of taking the route through the woods, from his house, I typically would come in off the blacktop as not to spook any bedding deer in the woods between his house and my stand.
Perplexed, as to no deer activity, I made my exit through the woods last night. I soon discovered another hunter had taken residence on my friends property, in my friends other stand, not 50 yards from his house.
What do you do in a case like this. You have been put in charge of watching your friends home and property while he was gone hunting up north. You discover, possibly a neighbor, without permission, hunting right in his backyard.
I didn't think it was my place to question the hunter so I let it go and went home.
My friend had called last night to see if everything was OK. After explaining the situation to him, he will have a few words with the hunter on his return home.
The moral of the story? Even the best laid plans for a hunt can be foiled by a hunter without ethics. |
