Hey TW - How are the rivers?
On the way home last night I went to a spot of mine on the big Miss --- water was flowing perfect, I know that the panfish hold up in this bay in the fall - so I got out the fly rod and gave it a try! After landing and releasing my 3rd small mouth ( WAS ALOT OF FUN ) I decided to move on as it is no were near bass season!! ;-) |

| I watched the tug criss-cross the harbor in Two Harbors, breaking up the ice for the arrival of the first ore boat three days later, and all the while I was shooting photos, I kept thinking, "The ice fishermen would hate to see this!" |

I was one of those ice fisherman who was upset to see them break up the ice. I was set to go ice fishing with TW - the night before the ice breakers took the ice we were to walk on and distroyed it!! ;-(
Oh well - now we have to wait for ice out! The news said last night that this time last year we saw 70+ degree's - looking at my records over the past 3 years I was tilling my garden next weekend -- well this year I have snow and frost still in the garden and I do not think it will be gone in a week!!
This delay in snow free days is giving me time to catch up on outside cleaning, getting wood ready for next years heating season and shed hunting! |

Outside cleaning--oh yeah, that awaits. I pulled up beside the house yesterday, took a real look at my yard, and realized I wouldn't want anyone to come visiting! We have two big dogs... Plus leaves that didn't get raked last fall, and "stuff" that seems to collect, grow and multiply under the snow all winter. All our south-facing areas are snow-free, but that's it. BUT--the sooner the work is done, the sooner I'll have time to play! |
