Well - we are getting to the end of the ice fishing season here in Northern Minnesota!  I must say that this year was alot of fun! Got to try a bunch of new water - have a couple more "fishin buddies" Life is good!

I am wondering - what do you do during this "ice out time"????

For me - its clean up time! I cut wood for next years heating season, clean the ice gear and pack it all away next to my deer hunting stuff. Then un pack spring/summer gear getting ready for open water panfish and opener!

Soon the garden will need to be planted, campers will be cleaned out for the summer groups that visit "Camp RandyMan" and the yard will be cleared of dog poo - ready for some mowin!

So - what do you do?

Lake Bemidji has water out from 20 to 100 yards out in spots but is still white and hasn't darkened yet. Many of the lakes are still covered up here. I hope I can get the boat out for opener. It''ll be close

Hogeye! We are seeing the same thing here in the Brainerd Lake area! the bigger lakes have a white ice cover! I am thinking that if the ice is still out we may need to line up a few boats and do some old fashion ice cutting!

Hey --- I am now set up to do some big water fishing -- just looking for a fishing partner in the Bemidji area --- know anyone???? Its been some time since you and I spent time together - you up for it??
