Loading a deer alone
First drop your tailgate and then slide one end of the plywood to the ground. Then roll the deer onto the wood. Now you can raise the lower end of the plywood sheet and slide it into the truck using your legmuscles rather than your back. This reduces the risk of back injuryand keeps your clothing cleaner too.

Safe Deer Hunting - Tree Stand Hunting
Hunting Deer: If you are going to bowhunt or gun hunt out of a tree, make sure you are always tied to the tree going up or down. I use a safety line with a prussik knot that can save my life anytime. If you'd like instructions on how to set this up, send me your email address and I'll send you the info free. Safe hunting, Jim safetreehunt@yahoo.com

Hunting Deer: Quite Snack Time in the Deer Woods.
Avoid bringing noisy packaging material into the deer woods. Open and store food in a zip-lock bag before leaving camp. Don't want the buck of a lifetime getting away due to a noisy candybar wrapper.

Deer Hunting - Waiting For The Perfect Shot
Why wait for that perfect broadside shot? Take the first lethal shot you feel comfortable with. How many times have you watched the deer walk away, only to think later, I could have taken him if I hadn't waited.

Shooting From A Tree Stand
Hunting Deer: Practice shooting from an elevated position, preferably sitting down. Many people climb their stands and miss or worse yet wound a deer, only to find out they shoot different from the elevated and sitting position.

Don't Pack Away That Fishing Gear - Use it for Deer Hunting
Just because it's hunting season doesn't mean you should pack all your fishing gear away. A fishing creel packed with deer tracking equipment: (batteries, survival kit, first aid kit, etc...) makes an excellent tote bag for all those needed items.

Stop That Deer
Many times a hunter can stop a moving deer by using a deer call or a short sharp whistle. This could provide the hunter the needed time to get the shot off.
