Have you ever wondered how much your "catch-n-release" trophy weighed? A helpful tip is to carry a measuring tape - a cloth one that can be bought in any sewing/craft department.

If you forgot your tape measure, no problem, a couple pieces of fish line designated as length and girth should suffice until you get home.

Note: A helpful tip, to ensure fish survival, is to be sure no matter what species of fish, measure from the lower jaw to the fork of the tail and measure the girth at the widest part around the body. Make sure that at no time should your tape measure or other measuring device go under the gill plate or into the gills!
