Our ice roads and bridge are in excellent shape; in fact if you were not told there was a bridge there you would not even know it.

The past few days have produced quite a few limits of crappies, not everyone is catching them so move around until you do.  The biggest mistake I see is everyone piles into the same place, there may have been fish there yesterday but that does not mean that they will be there today, so get out and explore a little, there is lots of lake that does not have a track on it.

Starting to see a few more crappies, the bite appears to be getting a little more consistent, it has been somewhat better during the day but I would not rule out the evening bite yet.

We did get a couple inches of snow last night, should not be a problem as long as the wind stays down.  The pressure ridge has not moved for a few days, I would not be surprised that it stays put for a while as long as we don’t have a big change in temperature.

It has been kind of quiet around here for the past 3 days; I think it has a lot to do with the weather; these teens below zero taken some of the fun out of fishing outdoors. According to the weatherman that is all about to change, the forecast for here this a.m. is about a 40 to 50 degree swing in the temperature, that should make the ice move and to top that off 3 to 4 inches of new snow tonight with some pretty brisk winds to follow, should make for an interesting couple of days.

Greetings fishermen! Jerry is busy smoothing out the ice road - - so thought I would post a note to let everyone know how the weekend went. To start with the wind picked up with lots of blowing snow that was giving Jerry plenty to do just to try to keep a path through it…

Yesterday (Saturday) was a c-o-l-d but sunny day along with the same for today. It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood. The chilling temperatures made it difficult for the fishermen to move around like they should to hook into those crappies. The weekend seemed to me like it produced a good deal of *walleye, northern, and the bigger perch - - with not toooooo many crappies showing up for the weekend fishing. Today with many of the folks leaving and the lake settling down to a little more quietness out there I am thinking the crappie bite may pick up a little.

For those of you that made the trip to ROGERS’ we thank you for doing so, and hope your weekend produced a good time whether you caught fish or not.

We saw quit a few more crappies this weekend, maybe things are starting to improve some. Mostly I think the better fishing this weekend is mostly the result of some nicer weather, the fishermen were more mobile and as a result found some more fish, there is still a lot of ice yet to be explored and right now the snow pack on the lake is down to where travel off road is quite easy. The main road is in excellent shape and the pressure ridge has not moved here for more than a week.

Greetings fishermen! Here we are sliding toward the weekend and once again you can just about tell that by looking at the thermometer. Mine said -20 (below) when I woke up this a.m. The up side to this is the wind is calm (so far)

Jerry’s just gave me the update on the ice road that it is in great shape out there on the big lake. The bridge over the pressure ridge has not moved in about 2 weeks. I hope that will remain the same.

The fishing since the past weekend has been the most we have had to talk about in a long time. We actually have seen a few limits of crappies in the past couple days. However there are still those that don’t have any OR just a few. YES, I guess they are still calling this sport fishing.

I am being rushed on the report this morning SO I will just wrap this up and say the best tip we can give you if you are coming for the weekend is- - bring lots of warm clothes.

Have a safe trip!

All in all it was a pretty good weekend for crappie fishing, lots of limits in spite of the bitter cold temps and strong winds.  The better bite has been within the first 1 ½ miles, seems like they are catching mostly walleyes past there.

I spent way too much time in the plow truck but that is just the way it is sometimes. The roads are in excellent shape for the first couple of miles after that they get a little narrow, travel off the roads is very easy, just watch out for old roads and spots where someone had a fish house for a while, the snow can get a little deep in these places.
